Recycled materials, especially post consumer recycled materials (PCR), are excellent in terms of mechanical properties, but inferior to virgin materials in terms of the decorative quality of the surface. Here, many customers are not willing to compromise on quality. Even if post-industrial goods have clear advantages over PCR in terms of cleanliness and grade purity, there are also limitations here if, for example, rejects show significant material degradation or coating.
Our workshop addresses the following topics:
Introduction: political background and legal regulations on the use of recyclates.
Overview: Techniques for processing pure recyclate, mixtures of recyclate and virgin material, and recyclate and virgin material as a composite, e.g. by coextrusion or two-component injection moulding
Insight: Quality, quantity, delivery capability - What is possible? - Challenges of a recyclate producer.
Exchange of experience: Along the value chain - Markets and customers
The aim is to find technical possibilities and arguments to increase the acceptance of post consumer recyclate in particular.
