The 21st SheMet 2025 international conference took place in Paderborn from 1 to 3 April 2025. As the organiser, the Laboratory for Materials and Joining Technology (LWF) welcomed numerous researchers and experts from all over the world to Paderborn.
SheMet - the International Conference on Sheet Metal Forming - offered a platform for high-calibre scientific presentations, exciting discussions and an intensive exchange of expertise. Topics focussed on the latest developments, innovative processes and future trends in forming technology.
A particular highlight was the active participation of the members of the Collaborative Research Centre/Transregio 285 (TRR 285), who presented their current research results on mechanical joinability in versatile process chains. The close exchange between science and industry provided numerous impulses and new co-operations.
We are proud to look back on a successful event and thank all participants for their contribution to the success of SheMet 2025.

Als Ausrichter durfte das Laboratorium für Werkstoff- und Fügetechnik (LWF) zahlreiche Forschende und Expert:innen aus aller Welt in Paderborn willkommen heißen.
SheMet – die Internationale Konferenz zur Blechumformung – bot eine Plattform für hochkarätige wissenschaftliche Vorträge, spannende Diskussionen und einen intensiven fachlichen Austausch. Themenschwerpunkte lagen auf neuesten Entwicklungen, innovativen Verfahren und Zukunftstrends in der Umformtechnik.
Ein besonderes Highlight war die aktive Beteiligung der Mitglieder des Sonderforschungsbereich/ Transregio 285 (TRR 285), die ihre aktuellen Forschungsergebnisse zur mechanischen Fügbarkeit in wandelungsfähigen Prozessketten präsentierten. Der enge Austausch zwischen Wissenschaft und Industrie sorgte für zahlreiche Impulse und neue Kooperationen.
Wir blicken stolz auf eine gelungene Veranstaltung zurück und danken allen Teilnehmenden für ihren Beitrag zum Erfolg der SheMet 2025.
