Material Qualities and Simulations
The development and manufacture of innovative products with new materials is an important field of work in engineering. This applies, for example, in lightweight automotive construction for the use of high-strength hybrid composite structures with the aim of reducing emissions. In-depth knowledge of calculation methods is required for the reliable simulation of new materials. As part of your studies in the specialisation in material properties and simulation, you will gain in-depth knowledge of the relationship between the structure, properties and behaviour of a wide range of materials. You will be able to propose and explain suitable testing and computer-aided simulation methods for the targeted characterisation of materials and their properties. You will learn the most important calculation methods for evaluating components with damage and cracks.
